Spices and Stories: Giving Hope to Girls in India

Hey friend! It’s Sarah, IGP’s Communication Associate. Have you ever stepped into someone’s kitchen and smelled the most glorious mixtures of cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and other spices? If you have, then you know it’s a heartwarming smell. I’m sure it even fills your mind with lovely memories.

Last month, I hosted an event called Spices and Stories for ladies at my church. As the ladies created their own Indian spice mixes, I was able to share the amazing stories about the real transformation of girls’ lives in India. It was also a sweet chance to introduce IGP’s mission to them. At the end, we were able to write letters to the girls in India. Many of the women left with new ideas for how they want to partner with IGP!

Hosting this event reminded me of how simple and how beautiful advocacy can be. You don’t need a massive platform to make a difference. Sometimes, all it takes is opening your home, putting on a pot of spiced tea, and inviting your friends into a conversation about justice, hope, and the incredible resilience of these young women.

Those small conversations are the heartbeat of everything we do, and they are leading us toward a massive milestone. We want to invite you to mark your calendars for July 2026, when IGP celebrates 15 years of rescuing girls in India and empowering them through education!

Thanks to our generous donors, IGP has been able to continuously transform the lives of girls in India. We do not take that lightly and want to celebrate with you! Over the next few months, stay tuned for some exciting updates and stories from the field, as we approach our 15th birthday!

IGP is dedicated to rescuing girls in India and giving them opportunities for a bright future. We are the sole international humanitarian organization working with grassroots organizations in India to prevent female gendercide and trafficking and to protect and save girls’ lives. Will you join us to ensure girls in India are valued and SEEN?
